1. 2022-2024 – A 3-year fellowship ($ 28,000) by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Makerere University and Mellon Foundation on Archiving, Memory and Method. Fellowship Research Project is entitled Men, Marriage and Memory: Interrogating Community narratives’ construction and representation of men’s identities in Uganda. Andrew W Mellon Archiving, Memory and Method Grant No: G-1910-07213
2. 2018-2022 – Won a 2-year academic grant worth $20,000 by the Andrew and W Mellon foundation. The fellowship was hosted in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Makerere University. As an early career scholar, my research project was entitled On the Feminist encounter with men and masculinities: Silences, Polarities and the Contradictions of “the turn to Male Involvement” in Uganda
3. 2019-2023: GENDER and Agricultural research Trainer with Gender Responsive Researchers Equipped for Agricultural Transformation (GREAT). Training Areas include Men, Masculinities in Agriculture; Gender Transformative Approaches in Agriculture; Conceptualizing Agricultural Feminist Research.
4. 2020-2021: Conducting a National research project on Men, Masculinities and the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Realisation in Uganda. The project is supported by Center for Health and Human Rights (CEHURD) Uganda
5. 2020 – 2025: Co-researcher on SIDA Supported project on Countering Backlash, Reclaiming Gender Justice. This is a-5-year project (2020-2025) multi-country initiative (East Africa (Uganda and Kenya); South Asia (India, Bangladesh); Middle East ( Lebanon) and Latin America (Brazil) to interrogate different forms of backlash in gender equity work.
6. 2019 – 2024; Co-investigator, Beyond war compensation: Gender Justice, Livelihood and Land Rights research project, in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The project is part of the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) - Gender Justice and Security Hub project supported by the United Kingdom Research Innovation (UKRI), and coordinated by the London School of Economics and Political Science.
7. May 2020: Research Innovation Fund (RiF) grant (as a co-researcher) by Makerere University on the Social response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Uganda. The project is entitled "Men and Gender Based Violence: Changing Masculinities for Effective COVID”
8. December- 2019 – January 2020: Conducted a participatory Gender Audit of the Brooke, Central London (UK) – an international animal charity that promotes welfare of working horses, donkeys and mules. The audit was conducted in Brooke UK, covering six other countries (India, Pakistan, Kenya, Senegal, Nicaragua, Ethiopia) affiliated to the Brooke UK.
9. The 2019: won a grant (Uganda shillings 27,620,000) and conducted a mapping study on sexual harassment in Gulu University. Study conducted in Gulu University, supported by GMS Makerere University, UN Women, and the embassy of Sweden. It run in August – December 2019
10. Empirical research on understanding the nature and character of Sexual harassment in institutions of learning
11. Managing a research team of 3 co-researchers
12. Key findings on the institutional silences around sexual abuse
13. Developed a paper “let’s talk about Silence” presented in December 2019 on the inter-university dialogue at Makerere University, during the celebration of the 16 days of activism against sexual abuse.
14. 2018: Lead Consultant in the Revision of the Reality Check: Women in Leadership and Decision Making in Uganda by the Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE).
15. 2014: Developed the Reality Check: Women in Leadership and Decision Making in Uganda as a consultant with Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE).
16. October – December 2013: Co-researcher on the team developing Gender and Development Curriculum with Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.
17. September 2013 – 2014: Researcher on the Comparative research project for the Effective States and Inclusive Development (ESID), an International research partnership funded by the UK government’s Department for International Development and hosted by the University of Manchester in the UK and Center for Basic Research – Uganda.
18. June 2013 – December 2013: Co-researcher on the project entitled Making a Difference: Towards Women’s Substantive Engagement in Parliament and Local Council Decision Making in Uganda. The study was commissioned by Women’s International Cross-Cultural Exchange (Isis-WICCE), a women’s rights organisation in Uganda.
