Amon Ashaba Mwiine is a Senior Lecturer and a Critical Studies of Men and Masculinities Scholar at Makerere University. He holds a PhD (Sociology) from Stellenbosch University, South Africa (2018). He is a two-times recipient of the Vice Chancellor’s Research Excellence awards (2025 & 2026), Co-Editor of the 2025 Reading Archives, Memory and Method from Makerere University: Debates and Insights, International Gender Auditor, Editorial Board member of Edinburgh Studies on Masculinities in Global Politics book series, 2026 and a Board member of several Journals. In November 2025, Dr Mwiine was appointed by UNFPA and Swedish Embassy as one of the 16 Male changemakers, for the campaign on 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence.
